Delete Your Halaali Account

How to delete your Halaali account, and what happens to your data when you do.

Have Habibi Pro? Cancel it first

Deleting the app or your Halaali account does not cancel Habibi Pro. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or it will keep renewing.

Delete inside the app

  1. Open the Halaali app and sign in to the account you want to remove.
  2. Go to Profile, then open Settings.
  3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

This usually takes effect right away. If the app shows an error, email us and we’ll finish it for you within 30 days.

Can't access the app?

You can still ask us to delete your account by email.

  1. Email info@halaali.app with the subject line Account Deletion Request.
  2. Include the email address tied to your Halaali account so we can find it safely.
  3. If you no longer have access to that inbox, tell us in the message and we will reply with verification steps.

We reply to email requests within 30 days.

What we delete

  • your Halaali account and profile: your name, email address, mobile number and the Home and Work addresses in your profile
  • your sign-in account and sessions. If you used Sign in with Apple, we also revoke Apple’s sign-in token
  • your Habibi messages and Habibi’s replies stored on our servers
  • your likes, saves and poll votes in the Feed, and your event RSVPs
  • your notification settings and the push token for your phone
  • appointment requests and messages you sent to businesses in the app

What stays on your phone

Your favourites, notes, Home and Work places you save on the map, and recent searches are stored only on your phone. The Habibi chat shown in the app is also kept on your phone. Deleting the app removes them from your phone. The copy of your Habibi messages on our servers is deleted with your account (see above).

What may be kept

  • backup copies for up to 90 days, before they are cycled out
  • records we must keep for legal, fraud, security or financial reasons
  • Habibi Pro purchase records kept by Apple and Google under their own policies
  • your account ID, name and email held by RevenueCat, which manages Habibi Pro for us. Email us and we will have them removed
  • app analytics and crash reports, which use a random ID for your device, not your account
  • a profile photo you uploaded: deleting in the app does not remove the image file yet, so email us and we will delete it
  • a résumé you attached to a request: the file isn’t removed automatically yet, so email us and we will delete it
  • places you asked us to check: we keep them without the link to your account, but some still show the email you signed in with. Email us and we will delete them
  • booking requests you sent through Halaali Bookings (name, contact, address, date and notes). They aren’t linked to your account. The business has its own copy, and you can email us if you want ours deleted
