Halaali recognizes and deeply values the vital work undertaken by Halal Certification Bodies in safeguarding halal standards and serving the Muslim community.

These organizations carry an important responsibility, fard kifayah, for the Ummah. Yet the valuable work they perform does not always reach Muslims through one simple, accessible and real-time digital platform.

Halaali was built to help bridge that gap.

We have invested significant time, expertise and financial resources into developing a technology platform designed to make reliable halal information easily accessible to Muslims - locally and while travelling.

Rather than Halal Certification Bodies having to invest additional resources into developing and maintaining their own consumer-facing apps, maps, notification systems and digital infrastructure, Halaali is offering access to technology that has already been built.

Halaali seeks to work directly with recognized Halal Certification Bodies and Islamic institutions in each country so that certification information displayed to users originates from trusted sources.

What the Certification Body provides

  • A complete and current list of its halal-certified restaurants and food establishments.
  • Digital copies of valid halal certificates, where available.
  • Updates regarding new, renewed, expired, suspended or revoked certifications through an agreed communication channel.
  • Authorization to use the Certification Body's approved logo as an identifier for establishments certified by that body within Halaali proprietary map.
  • Public acknowledgement of the collaboration, where appropriate, through its website, social media or other communication channels so its community knows that its certification information can be accessed through Halaali.

What Halaali provides

  • Digital Certification Access

    Display certification information and, where provided, digital certificates within the Halaali app so users can conveniently view the certification status of listed establishments.

  • Ongoing Updates

    Update certification information within a mutually agreed reasonable timeframe after receiving changes from the Certification Body.

  • Dedicated Certification Portal

    Where requested, develop and provide the Certification Body with access to a dedicated portal, enabling authorized representatives to manage and update relevant certification information directly.

  • Localized Consumer Notifications

    Where requested, provide localized in-app notifications regarding important certification changes so that users in the affected region can be informed promptly.

  • Public Awareness

    Where appropriate, communicate significant certification updates through Halaali's social media channels while clearly acknowledging and tagging the relevant Certification Body.
